What is Wotjob?
Ireland is the perfect place for travellers to combine working and travelling. Each year thousands of travellers fly to Ireland under The Working Holiday Programme Visa. The Irish Government like issuing Working Holiday Scheme Visas (WHS) as it gives you an opportunity to work and save money for all the exciting things you want to do on your travels. Most importantly it gives you the chance to meet new people and possibly make the vital contacts that will help you to come back and live. The problem before for WHP holders was that the cost of advertising jobs to you was prohibitive for Employers. Make no mistake the Irish economy is doing well and work is available if you look no matter what your skills. So we have made it easy by allowing ALL and ANY employers in Ireland free advertising of jobs now and always. So there is no reason why you shouldn't part with the equivalent of just a mornings work here to let employers know where you are, and what you can do, throughout your entire stay (that's AU$50 about £20 and ?30 Euros for a full years online travelling CV that moves with you) The beauty of Wotjob is as you change destination you simply log on Update your location, add any new learned skills and all Employers looking for your skills get an email instantly letting them know you are in town. Likewise don't be surprised if you get phone calls from Employers asking you to come and join them as we allow Employers full access to our database to find you by skills and location.

What opportunities are there for a working holiday in Ireland?
"Will I be able to get a job?" If you're thinking about coming to Ireland for a working holiday, this is one of the most important questions to ask. And the answer depends on your skills and experience, the kind of work you're looking for, and what's available. Ireland is looking for people who value our culture, our country, our way of life. You may only want to come and work for a short time, but these are still important. If you really want to experience Ireland, your positive attitude will help you get work. The economy is growing and it's stronger now than it's been for several years. There's a high level of employment but it's still a competitive job market. The employment scene is changing because of technology and differences in our workforce. The labour market is diverse and there are different opportunities in different regions. Seasonal work is popular for people on working holidays. There are opportunities in orchards, agriculture, tourist destinations, and the hospitality industry.

We allow any jobs to be placed with us free of charge (we can't find any site that currently does this!) Employers all to often will run their businesses light if staff fall ill or are absent because of the high costs and length of recruiting replacement staff. If you are a Wotjob member and keep your location details up to date at all times you will receive phone calls and emails from Employers searching for your skills. in the right location.

If Employers don't look for me how do they find me?
If an employer places a job that meets your skills, our unique skill matching will fire emails at each party (you and the employer) to tell you both about each other. It's all done automatically.

Why Do I need to update my Details?
Just like at home your CV needs to be bang up-to-date. If you don't regularly update your location details Employers in the wrong location will offer you jobs and you will be contacted about jobs in the wrong location as well. Keep up-to-date and work smarter (you can deactivate your profile whilst you are working or decide to go off travelling and partying)

What if I don't have a CV?
No sweat. Just fill out the online form with as much detail as you want to say. You can change it any time you like and change the photo as often as you please. Upload a photo (if you haven't got one get a mate with a digital camera to take one).

How should I dress for Interviews?
As you would at home (smartly) Dress, Skirt, Blouse etc. Shirt, tie, trousers etc. Put the wellie boots away! Also Employers will probably want to see your WHP visa in your passport or work permit (so take your PASSPORT along as well).

What's my travelling Email?
Use your travelling email? Hotmail, Yahoo, and GMX etc. the one you pop from any computer at an Internet café or friends place. If you haven't got one go to
HOTMAIL
or

websites and simply set an account up, it's free.

Why Can't I see my Photo?
Ireland is a happy country so smiles please! Employers don't like the criminal passport type shots (who does) We also don't think you will increase your chances of getting a job with you and your mates doing moonies! Be aware that we strictly reserve the right to delete photos that we feel are unsuitable for viewing.

All to often your experience with recruitment companies will have been, come in and see us, and fill the form before you know if jobs are available. Wotjob lets you see which Recruitment companies are looking for your skills .So, before visiting them you know if they have specific jobs you would like to do. Basically we save you time walking the streets between Recruitment companies and getting frustrated. You're here on holiday so our policy is to help you work smarter. Not forgetting recruitment companies have access to your CV and they can call you too. The Recruitment companies make their money from the Employers. If you are asked for money to be put forward for interviews please refuse and inform us straight away and we will BAN the Job Placement Company from using our service.

I can't see the place I'm staying in listed
That's deliberate. We have listed the towns and cities in Ireland with the highest concentrations of population. The reason we ask you to put the nearest major town or city as your location is because Jobs are placed in exactly the same way. We do this because say you are 10 miles North of Cork and a job is placed 5 miles west of Cork you wouldn't find each other As we group both the job and you as being in the location of Cork you can find the job and the job finds you. It's that simple and that's why we do it this way. The job details will always have the exact location of the job.

I can't see the job details

What is Manage Favourite List?
This is where you have saved your preferred jobs for quick access when you have job searched. Unless jobs are filled they usually stay available for up to 6 months. Your favourite list lets you know if the positions are still available. If you are on the move we recommend that you save jobs in favourites list for your next destination. It's always a good idea to contact employers and let them know that you will soon be in their town and are able to work. A lot of seasonal jobs are quite often requiring a person that's leaving next week to travel on, to be replaced.

Should I join before I leave home for Ireland?
Yes, we let membership run for 13 months to take into account the fact that you have a 12-month visa for Ireland. This way it gives you the opportunity to look at the type of jobs available before you arrive. Just remember before you fly to update your details to your arrival destination or do it as soon as you arrive.
